Awaken Happiness. Restore Life
A scientist, inventor, and seeker—sharing a lifelong journey to understand the true foundation of happiness and the human soul.

“I Did Not Start My Life As A Writer.”
I started as a biomedical engineer.
Early in my career, I worked on medical engineering and later became one of the principal inventors of an Enhanced External Counter pulsation (EECP) system—a non-invasive cardiovascular therapy now used in hospitals and clinics worldwide.
I loved solving problems with devices, systems, and data.
But the longer I worked in science and technology, the more I realized:
“The deepest questions I carried were not about machines, but about life itself.”
A Life Shaped by Questions That Would Not Go Away
These questions followed me everywhere.
They brought me to the United States in 1997;
They stayed with me through my work, my family, my failures, and my small victories.
- Why are we not happy, even when life looks successful?
- Why does achievement not resolve the emptiness of the heart?
- What is the meaning and structure of life itself?
Science gave me tools to understand systems.
But it could not explain the human longing for meaning, truth, conscience, and love.
Over time, I discovered that science and faith were not in conflict—
they illuminated the same reality from different sides.
From Devices That Save Life … to a Book That Speaks to Life
Years ago, I founded MicroDysis to develop microfluidic technologies for rapid gene and protein biomarker diagnosis. Our goal was simple: to help doctors see disease sooner, so patients would not have to wait in fear.
In recent years, our R&D has expanded to focus on rapid tissue staining and intraoperative pathology, enabling real-time diagnostic insights during surgery.
In 2015
I co-founded WellBeing Technologies, where we developed scientifically grounded tools for stress and emotional well-being.
Our work included:
- salivary hormone testing for cortisol and DHEA
- microfluidic testing strips
- mobile stress-management devices and software
- psychological and physiological monitoring validated with research partners (e.g., Tsinghua University)
- applications for students, counseling centers, and personal stress management
We built devices and the App that connected biology, emotion, and stress—technologies grounded in rigorous experiments and hormone analysis .
But while I worked on reagents, microfluidic flow, biosensors, and hardware in the laboratory…
In my heart, I wrestled with deeper questions:
- What makes a human life truly whole?
- Why does inner conflict persist even when outer conditions improve?
- Where does the sense of right and wrong come from?
- What sustains the soul when science reaches its limit?
Technology helped people understand their stress.
But I wanted to understand the mechanism of stress and how to heal the inner life.
Why I Wrote Happiness and Life
I did not write this book because I had all the answers about happiness or life. I wrote it because—through years of research, the difficult seasons of entrepreneurship, and the long path of searching— I caught a glimpse of the deep and necessary connection between Happiness and Life.
And once I saw that connection, I could not keep it to myself.
As a scientist and inventor, I once believed that reason, systems, and natural laws could explain everything. But that path, by itself, was incomplete. The questions grew louder, not quieter.
So I turned toward what science cannot measure—
- the quiet voice of conscience,
- the longing of the soul
- Restraint of shackles
- the deeper meaning woven into the very sequence of our DNA.
Years of reflection, reading, failure, and unexpected mercy gradually revealed a truth:
Happiness is not an achievement we reach, but a state that awakens when life is placed back into its proper order.
This book is the fruit of that discovery, a weaving together of:
- Scientific insight
- Spiritual understanding
- The wisdom of ancient texts
- The honesty of real human experience
